IMMOVABLES in your faith.  Some basic truths in your life that DON’T change, no matter what.

  1. The Bible is true.

  2. Jesus is the perfect son of God.

  3. God is good.

These truths won't change, no matter what I see or hear or believe. My opinions must line up with THEM, or I must discard my opinion and start over.

((Jews’ prayers were generally adorations, and praises of God, and doxologies (a liturgical formula of praise to God.), John taught his disciples such prayers as were more filled up with petitions and requests; for it is said of them that they did deeseis poiountai—make prayers, Luke 5:33. Not recite them, MAKE them. The word signifies such prayers as are properly petitionary.))

Luke 11:1-13

  1. This story isn’t about laziness or selfishness. (on the part of the asker)

    1. Not about get rich quick schemes.

      1. “A faithful man will abound with blessings, but whoever hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.” Prov 28:20

      2. “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own?” Luke 16:10-12

    2. God always prefers spiritual health, to physical wealth.

      1. He wants to give you the desires of your heart….but when you’re following God, your heart’s desires change.

  2. This story isn’t about annoyance. (on the part of God)

    1. This is about you working for something! Being diligent in your prayers. Being steadfast in what you want. Don’t be double minded in your prayers, James says, for a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.

  3. This story is about shameless persistence.

    1. Shameless persistence doesn’t mean you’ll get EVERYTHING you want exactly as you want it. It doesn’t mean you get to be a spoiled, rotten brat.  There still has to be an underlying belief that God is good.

What have you observed Jesus doing lately?

What are you asking him to be taught right now?

The wrong question is the one unasked.
