The Big Questions:
1. What do you think the difference is between happiness and Joy?
Psalm 16:11 tells us that Joy comes from a deep knowing that God loves you and he is in your corner! We can remain joyful no matter what is happening in the world around us when we know what He has done for us!
2. In Acts, Peter healed a crippled man, who wasn’t happy about that?
The religious leaders didn’t want Peter to be able to heal people because he was praying in Jesus name and not following their ‘rules’.
3. Peter was thrown in jail and then let out with what instruction?
To not preach about jesus anymore.
4. What did Peter pray for the night that he was released from jail?
Peter prayed for boldness!
5. Even in the face of danger, even when they were thrown into jail the apostles never gave up sharing the truth about Jesus. Not only did they share the truth about Jesus, but they also did it with joy! Do you know what kept the apostles going?
The Holy Spirit. The Spirit gave them the boldness to teach with joy, because no matter what went on around them, the Holy Spirit gave them joy on the inside.
6. This week choose joy no matter what’s going on! Even when things aren’t going the way you think they should try to choose Joy!
