I am…a new creature. 2 Corinthians 5:17 // in context: 2 Corinthians 5:11-21

  1. I am new creature

We no longer live for ourselves but for Christ

-we live in a sinful world and it’s easy to sin but we have a choice to turn away and turn to God

As ambassador we have to know God in order to represent him well

I can’t be an ambassador to Kenya, when I know nothing about that country, we would not be effective representatives

We also have the responsibility of bringing others to God, even when it’s uncomfortable

    It’s our task our job

    • Then read it in context: 2 Peter 1:3-11

    • Then answer some questions and take some notes:

      • From verses 1-4, what is “everything we need for life”? With “everything” given to us, why must we “add to our faith”? And with what effort (v. 5 & 10)?

      • Of the seven qualities in verses 5-7, which two do you feel you posses in the greatest measure? How could you grow in on of the other qualities?

      • Given God’s goals for us, are you in a tug-of-war with him, or rowing in the same boat? Why?

  2. I am…redeemed from the Curse of the Law. Galatians 3:13

      1. How does Paul’s appeal to their suffering (v4), their experience (v2-5), and Christi’s death (2:21) expose the foolishness and futility of human effort?

      2. How does the example of Abraham (v6-9) support Paul’s argument? How is our faith in Christ a fulfillment of God’s promise to Abraham?

      3. What “christian” rules seem to be important in your circle? Why?

  3. I am….delivered from the Powers of Darkness. Colossians 1:13

      • What is “God’s grace in all its truth” (v6)? How does what Paul prays for (v9-12) compare with what he thanks God for about this church?

      • How are the “fruits” of faith, love, and hope growing in your life?

      • How has God delivered you from the powers of darkness and brought you into the Kingdom of Jesus?
