The Big Questions:
What is faithfulness? Remaining loyal or sticking together.
Who is the helper God sent for believers after Jesus went back to heaven? The Holy Spirit
When Peter was in jail how many guards were watching him? 4 groups of 4 guards each!
How many examples of faithfulness can you think of from the story? The believers were faithful to share the news about Jesus. Peter’s friends faithfully prayed to God when they heard Peter was in trouble. God was faithful to Peter by rescuing him from jail.
What are some ways that you can be faithful this week? We can do what we say we’re going to do, keep our promises, tell the truth, be great friends and sons and daughters and brothers and sisters, most importantly we can follow God’s example of faithfulness.
Parent At Home Activity:
Faithfulness Necklace
Supplies: String, Beads
Read Proverbs 3:3 together. “Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.”
Invite your kids to make a necklace of faithfulness with you. With each bead that is strung you can talk about a time that God has been faithful to your family. This is also a great time to talk about what faithfulness is, examples of God’s faithfulness in the Bible, and why it’s so important to be faithful in our relationship with God and other people.
Memory Verse:
“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!”
Galatians 5:22-23
