The Sword of The Spirit

  • “Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:17 NLT

  • “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.” Hebrews 4:12 NLT

  • “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT

"Rhema" refers to a specific, spoken word of God that is applicable to a particular situation or person. It's distinct from "logos," which represents the universal, written Word of God. Rhema is often understood as an inspired, targeted message from God that addresses a believer's current need.”

“Rhema vs. Logos:

  • Logos:  The universal, encompassing Word of God, often referring to the entirety of Scripture or the written Word.

  • Rhema:  A specific, applicable word of God, often heard or interpreted in a particular context.

In essence, rhema is about finding God's specific, spoken word for a specific need, often through a combination of Scripture, personal experience, and guidance from others.”

From Google search Biblical training in sword use:

1. The Sword of the Spirit:

What it is: In Ephesians 6:17, Paul describes the armor of God for spiritual warfare, listing the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. This is our offensive weapon in spiritual battles.

Why it's important: Just like a physical sword needs training to be used effectively, you need to understand and apply the Bible to wield it in spiritual warfare.

2. Training with the Sword of the Spirit:

Read the Word: Regularly read and engage with the Bible to understand its teachings and truths.

Study and Memorize: Delve deeper into specific passages and memorize key verses that can be used in times of need or temptation.

Understand the Context: Learn the context and meaning behind the verses you read to avoid misuse or misinterpretation.

Apply to Life: The most effective way to use the Sword of the Spirit is to apply its truths and instructions to your daily life.

We need to SPEAK The Word
