John 10:10, “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”
Matthew 16:18, “Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.”
1 Peter 5:2-3 instructs elders to shepherd and guard the flock of God, not for personal gain, but with enthusiasm and as an example to the flock.
In Acts 20:28-31, Paul warns the church to be on guard against savage wolves and those who will distort the truth to draw away disciples.
Ephesians 6:18 suggests that prayer is a spiritual weapon that can protect the flock from spiritual attack.
Hebrews 3:13 tells the church to encourage each other every day so that they are not led into sin.
