Mark 6:30-44

Rest can be productive.

Compassion fatigue is a condition characterized by emotional and physical exhaustion leading to a diminished ability to empathize or feel compassion for others, often described as the negative cost of caring. It is sometimes referred to as secondary traumatic stress.

It’s what happens when you get so many appeals on the behalf of those who are suffering, that you start to develop an indifference.

“Take a day off, or your body will do it for you--at time when it’s least convenient”

God modeled REST for us right from the beginning.  Rest is necessary.  Rest is good.  Rest causes you to be able to continue to care for people! Rest is actually productive!

Jesus took naps. Be like Jesus.

Let Jesus lead you.

It’s hard to hear God, when you’ve already decided what He’s going to say.

We pray the Lord’s Prayer, and we pray “Your kingdom come, your will be done”, as if it’s something outside of our control.
YOUR KINGDOM COME--that plan--is through you. It’s through people!

They were the miracle makers.

God sees you all not just as a congregation-- not just as attenders, but disciple makers!
