During this COVID-19 situation, many of us are stuck at home, and we can’t be the “church” like we’re so used to being (but it’s not about method, it’s about message, anyway, right?!), and so we’re going to be challenging you to do something good for yourself and for others, every day!

Some of our daily challenges will be focused on others and some will be focused on staying spiritually healthy ourselves, but they will all be about remaining #VibrantPassionateSelfless while we’re apart! Check back DAILY for new challenges and encouragements!

Today’s Challenge:

We’ve transitioned from Today’s Challenge into our “Heroes of the Faith” Bible Plan! Check there for daily challenges! THANK YOU for participating in Today’s Challenge with us!

Past Challenges:

  • Saturday, March 28th: Today, read Hebrews 11-12. Pastor Candace will preach on it tomorrow (join us at 10am), and will introduce a brand new series, and Bible Plan for us all to take part in. As a child of God, bravery runs in your family! Be encouraged today by the examples of the heroes of the faith!

  • Friday, March 27th: Call someone you haven’t spoken to in a while. Make it a point to deepen a friendship, ask real questions, and truly listen. Use this time spent apart, to grow closer. “Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them.” Romans 12:9

  • Thursday, March 26th: Get some exercise. Exercise is good for your body, mind, and soul! It’s important to stay strong for physical and mental health.

  • Wednesday, March 25th: Learn something new today. Learning is good for you soul, whether or 5, 55, or anywhere in between. Learn something about the Bible, or science, or cooking, or history, or music, or anything that interests you! Proverbs 18:15

  • Tuesday, March 24th: Write in your journal today. It could be a prayer to God, could be a stream of thoughts, it could be a list of things your grateful for, or a verse that you find encouragement in, but WRITE IT DOWN today! Remember, as Pastor Candace said this weekend, we are in a faith-building season! If you’re intentional in this season, later, you’ll be able to look back and see how much God has brought you through!

  • Monday, March 23rd: Do something silly and fun today. Maybe: Get dressed up and do a fun, silly family photo shoot in your house. Play a board game with your family. Blare some music and dance around the kitchen. Micah 6:6 MSG

  • Sunday, March 22nd: Post a handful of photos that make you smile today! Matthew 5:16 “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

  • Saturday, March 21st: Give someone a call today! Give 5 people a call! Just check in on them, share a verse with them, encourage them. The church is not a building, it’s a people!

  • Friday, March 20th: BLARE some worship music in your house today! Spend as much time as you can in worship today. Close your eyes, raise your hands, give your all to God! THIS IS HOW WE FIGHT OUR BATTLES!

Last night, we polled FV on social media, and came up with a list of all YOUR favorite worship songs! Check out the playlists here:

    Apple Music: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/281sn6Jt3pIuphaEQPUzwz?si=usW9Y4kWSJ-YbqKjOy1PcA

  • Thursday, March 19th: Send 5 messages of encouragement to friends, family, or neighbors today. 1 Thessalonians 5:11, “So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.”

  • Wednesday, March 18th: Record a video to post to social media, answering these questions: Who is Jesus to you? Why do you believe in Him? Parameters: Leave the virus out of it. Don’t PREACH—tell your story, there’s a difference. Don’t take a spirit of forcing it on others, but offer a conversation, if anyone has questions. For those of you without this tech option, give someone a call today! Maybe someone living alone, or in need of encouragement.

  • Tuesday, March 17th: 1. Send a card. Yes, an actual, snail mail card to someone who might need a little day-brightening right now. 2. Check out the plans and VIDEOS on The Bible App! Watch one video about Easter today!

  • Monday, March 16th: Spend 20 minutes in nothing but prayer today. Have an honest conversation with God about your worries and fears. Ephesians 6:18, “Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.”

  • Sunday, March 15th”: Watch the FV Livestream together with your family, but don’t just watch, PARTICIPATE! Sing loudly to the worship songs, pray out loud with us, proclaim scripture over your household, comment a prayer request, or word of encouragement! You can even watch the online service again later and sing along all over again!

  • Saturday, March 14th: Make plans. Plan an activity to do each day, over the next two weeks, even if it’s as simple as a board game, or nature walk, or reaching out to a friend or neighbor. Make a list of things you want to accomplish around the house, or with your family! “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” Proverbs 16:9

  • Friday, March 13th: Read Psalms 91 today with your family. Highlight your favorite parts, and pray for God’s protection! Maybe come up with a creative, fun way to display this psalm for the next few weeks!
